The Friends Collection has four short stories inspired by some well known and some not so well known Robert Burns poems. They are presented in a format to suit children who have, "intermediate" reading capability.
A second part of the book contains the original Robert Burns Poems that inspired the stories.
The poems included are, The Humble Petition of Bruar Water, Epistle to a Young Friend, O Heard ye of a Silly Harper and Is There for Honest Poverty.
To aid in understanding some old Scottish words a line by line interpretation is shown in italics. This will enable the readers to continue and explore the connection between the stories and the poems.
